Types of Therapy
Therapy can be a positive outlet to work on something personal within yourself and/or your relationships. It is a space to help to recognize the elements of your life that are and are not serving you. Through kind, direct and engaging feedback, I hope to help you uncover and strengthen what is helping you, and work to shed what is not.
I offer individual therapy to adults in California and Texas based on what each person is going through in order to meet their needs using a framework based on Person-Centered, Cognitive-Behavioral, and Psychodynamic therapeutic orientations.
Individual Therapy
Through individual sessions, we will meet one-on-one to discuss any issues that are coming up for you. These sessions can be done in the traditional setting of my office, virtually, or through walks around the neighborhood in the fresh air. The goal is for you to feel comfortable enough to talk about all different topics- ones that are easy to discuss, and some that are the most difficult.
Thereaputic Orientations
Person-Centered Therapy
The way we feel about ourselves internally is a direct reflection of our behaviors externally. Through person-centered therapy, I work to help guide you to feel more aligned and congruent about who you are on the inside and who you are on the outside. There is no agenda or plan, the session is based on how you are feeling and what you bring into the session.
Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy
Many of our thoughts dictate the way we feel, behave, and respond, and most of the time we feel as though we cannot control our thoughts, thus we feel out of control. Through CBT, I will work to help you challenge those intrusive or overwhelming thoughts in order to feel more in tune with your self.
Psychodynamic Therapy
Much of who we are today is based on what we experienced growing up at different stages of our lives. Through psychodynamic therapy, I can help you to make connections from your past experiences and relationships, to what you are now feeling in the present moment all in order to improve your overall wellbeing.
